The Lush Green Lodhi Garden, Delhi
The green colour always cools down a weary mind, and if it opens its cozy heart in the middle of a capital, it beckons everyone far and near. Since time immemorial, Delhi has been a capital of valiant emperors who beside creating newer boundaries also bestowed the geography with exquisite works of art and picturesque gardens suroounding them. Thanks to the enthusiast tourism department, the gardens still reverberates with the erstwhile princely aroma, that makes it way to everyone's hearts through the enchanting fragrance of roses and lilies. Ubiquitous in the planned areas, unfortunately they are limited in the congested layout of Old Delhi, where it is difficult to have open spaces. Many of these lush parks are adorned with forsaken ruins of archaic forts, which stand as silent solitary sentinels but give you ample elbowroom to kick back your vacation afternoons.

Other Gardens of Serenity

Besides, there are other leisure greens dotting the busy landscape of Delhi. Amidst the bustling colonnaded pillars of Connaught Place roosts a tranquil arena of a park trimmed with lush lawns, exotic gardens and alluring fountains. South Delhi is all green, peppered with medieval monuments chucked here and there carelessly by nature. They, no doubt, make a very welcome place to relax, or would be if you are not constantly pestered by hawkers - shoe cleaners, ear cleaners and masseurs seem to descend from nowhere as soon as a tourist sits down, and each has his own book full of glowing lists of satisfied customers. Entry to these are free except for a few that houses buildings of archaeological importance. Remember to get a road map so that you can roam around freely without panicking about your return.
