Vadodara has a large range of restaurants serving typical Gujarati thalis and also other cuisines, which means that the tourists do not have limited options in terms of food. Though there are more vegetarian restaurants in this city than there are non vegetarian. But the Gujrati cuisine offers a lot of variety in food and with so much variety in eating vegetarian food, the famous Indian British cookbook writer Madhur Jaffrey has termed Gujarati cuisine as "the haute cuisine of vegetarianism" in one of her TV serials about Indian food.

The thali here was excellent. Along with a very clean and hygienic environment, and prompt service, this restaurant has it all.

Conveniently located near the Railway Station, this place is a good stop over point where you can fill up on some really delicious Gujarati and Rajasthani food. The staff is quite friendly and the prices really cheap.
Mandap

Pure and authentic Gujarati food is what Mandap is famous for. Vegetarians can go absolutely crazy at this place choosing from a wide variety of dishes. The cleanliness of the restaurant and quick service only adds on to the customer's delight.
Pizza Meo

Small and cozy, this place can actually go unnoticed if you're not aware about its existence. Located right next to Kalyan Cafe, it is known for having the best Italian food in town. Start off your meal with their Garlic Bread and soup, move on to their fine Pizzas and then dig into their thick, rich, pastas. Everything is well prepared and the best thing about this place is that every dish, including the pizza base and the herbs, are freshly prepared. A meal at Meso will leave you satisfied, for sure.

The Mughlai is very famous here. The brightly lit tables make it difficult for you to notice the beautiful looking dishes when they are served. In all aspects, this is one of the better family restaurants in Vadodara.

This is one of the top restaurants in Burhanpur, which provides a multicuisine platter for its customers. Everything ranging from Indian to Chinese is well prepared. But the service is a bit slow.

This restaurant breaks the much believed myth that a vegetarians cannot experience an exotic and sumptuous Western meal. This place does enough justice to its name, and indeed provides world class vegetarian International delicacies. It has an absolutely enchanting ambience, state-of-the-art infrastructure and the Wild Verona pizzas are a must try. A little too heavy on the pockets though.

One of the most successful casual dining restaurant chains in India, Barbeque Nation also known as BBQ Nation does not disappoint in its Vadodara outlet. The entire cuisine is a fine blend of American, Mediterranean, Oriental and Indian. They provide a live grill on the table and were supposedly the first ones to start this unique facility. The availability of alcohol comes as a huge surprise given the fact that Gujarat is a dry state. Overall, this outlet lives up to its name and provides some mouth-watering delicacies and a great ambience. The must try's are Mango Mustard Fish and Cajun Spiced Potato.
