Special Activities

Tthe annual Day Out With Thomas the Tankengine is always a crowd favourite. This is a wonderful experience for all members of the family, not just children. During this event, you can meet a full-size Thomas the Tank Engine, as well as several of his personal friends, such as Toby the Rail Motor, Henry, and the Fat Controller. You can also take a genuine steam engine ride.
Other activities available during this amazing event are unlimited access to the mini train rides, a visit to the Thomas movie station, the opportunity to use an inflatable slide, face painting, story telling, and the once-in-a-lifetime chance to have your photo taken next to the dear engine.
Another special event is the "Easter at Trainworks" event. Here, you can follow the antics of an adorable Easter Bunny from the Thirlmere station, where he commences his participation in the enormous Easter Egg Hunt. This is an incredibly exciting and fast-paced event that is sure to conclude with everyone having found at least some eggs--many have been craftily hidden, and the hunt is split into age categories for a more exhilarating experience.
The Rail Transport Museum has a little something for everyone. From historic steam rides to hosting a birthday party or other special event, we are here for you. Stop by today and experience Australia's train culture.
