Doon Valley India

 Doon Valley : 

The beautiful Doon Valley is situated in the Western Ganges of the Garhwal Himalayas at an elevation of 3,556 meters. The pristine Valley lies between the two sacred rivers of India – Ganga and Yamuna. The valley is known as the hanging valley of Gods. The Doon valley is surrounded by the glittering peaks on one side and the dense forests on the other. The scintillating beauty of the valley attract the tourists from all over the world. The valley provides the exotic view of the Jundhar Glacier, which lies at the height of 4300 meter, above the valley. The valley is the home to the trees of Bhojpatra flower 'Brahmakamal'. It is considered as the holy place among the Hindus in India. It is complete paradise for the honeymoon couples, nature lovers and trekkers. doon-valley

Flora of Doon Valley : 
The lush green grassy land and the dense forests of Chestnuts, walnuts, willows and chinars makes it an ideal location for the nature lovers. The valleys snows every afternoon. The scented pine tress and profusion of flowers make it a complete fairyland. The area is also quite rich with the medicinal herbs and the aquatic shrubs. These wonderful creation of the nature add dash of splendour to nature's abundance that exists in the environs of the Doon Valley. 

Fauna of Doon Valley : As the valley falls within the Govind Pashu Vihar, the chances to spot the wilds are bright. Himalayan Black Bear, tahr, serow, monal, Indian leopards, musk deer, and Chir can be easily spotted in this area. The valley gives you the opportunity to capture some magnificent views in the camera. People living in this area mainly survives on agricultural activities. Rice, Rajmas and Charas are the main crops grown in this area. You may witness the small-small houses made of deodar tress in this area. You can always spot the farmers rearing the cattle or the sheep. Small Children can be noticed playing in the fields barefooted. You may also notice them serving the tourists as the guide, to earn some money. The valley is excellent place to indulge in the nature walk admiring its beauty. 

Trekking in Doon Valley :Har -Ki -Doon the cradle shaped valley is a paradise for the trekkers. Doon trek is located at the an altitude of 3,555 meters The trials take you to the less exposed areas of the Garhwal. People of all age groups can enjoy the trekking adventure in this area. The best trekking time starts from June and remains till October. At this time you get the opportunity to view lot of wildlife and the scenery of valley floor full of wild flowers. The trek provides the extensive view of the snow clad peaks especially the Swargarohini peak. Tourists can also visit and pay homage at the temple dedicated to the Kaurava King, Duryodhana. The trek takes you to through some of the pristine villages where you get the chance to anchant with the Gujjars, residing in this region.
